Covid-19: Sarawak sees zero positive cases today

KUCHING, Aug 15: Sarawak recorded zero positive cases of Covid-19 today.

The information was revealed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement.


With no new positive Covid-19 cases, the committee said the cumulative number of positive cases in Sarawak remained at 682 cases.

The committee said there were four patients who were receiving treatment at the isolation ward in the hospitals.

SDMC added that there were 17 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) while four PUI cases are awaiting laboratory results.

It asserted that the Kuching healthcare centre cluster has ended today after no new cases were reported in the last 28 days.

SDMC said there are currently eight clusters of Covid-19 which are active involving  64 persons.

It added that there were 78 persons who registered into hotels for quarantine today as person-under-surveillance (PUS).

The committee observed that there are 812 PUS who are undergoing quarantine at 16 hotels throughout Sarawak.
