Covid-19: Sarawak reports 10 new cases, bringing total to 478

KUCHING, April 25: Sarawak recorded 10 more Covid-19 cases today (April 25).

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) secretariat, in a statement, said that of the 10 cases, six were from Kuching, three from Samarahan and one from Miri.


This brought the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in the state to 478.

SDMC also informed that there were 135 person-under-investigation (PUI) cases reported today and 550 PUI cases are still awaiting laboratory test results.

It added that there were 194 active cases from Kuching and 65 active cases from Samarahan being treated at the state’s health facilities.

As such, both locations have been classified as red zone or high risk zone which registered more than 40 cases of Covid-19.

SDMC updated that 292 more Sarawakians have returned to the state as of today, and they have been placed at identified quarantine centres as persons-under-surveillance.

This brought the total number of individuals undergoing mandatory quarantine in 19 hotels in the state to 1,451.

Meanwhile, 717 Sarawakians have completed their quarantine period and were allowed to return back home.— DayakDaily
