Covid-19: Sarawak logs 916 new cases in Epid Week 48, down from 1,046 cases

KUCHING, Dec 5: Sarawak reports 916 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 48, a decrease from 1,046 cases reported in Epid Week 47.

According to a statement issued today by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), 884 cases were classified as Categories 1 and 2, while 32 cases were classified as Categories 3, 4, and 5.

This has brought the total cumulative number of cases reported in the State to 321,227.

By district, Kuching remained at the top with the most number of new cases at 276, followed by Miri (123), Sibu (119), Bintulu (104), Sarikei (43), Samarahan (41), Serian (33), Betong (17), Bau (14), Mukah (13), Kapit and Subis (12 each), Sri Aman, Lubok Antu, and Tebedu (10 each), Meradong (8), Simunjan (7), Dalat and Pakan (6 each), Lawas and Asajaya (5 each), Julau, Tatau, Beluru, Kanowit, and Lundu (4 each), Pusa, Marudi, and Saratok (3 each), Selangau, Telang Usan, and Bukit Mabong (2 each), and Limbang, Daro, Kabong, Song, Sebauh, Tanjung Manis, and Matu (1 each).

In addition, two new Covid-19 deaths were reported in Sibu during Epid Week 48. — DayakDaily
