Covid-19: Sarawak logs 760 new cases as Samarahan, Sarikei report two deaths in Epid Week 34

KUCHING, Aug 29: Two deaths involving Covid-19 were reported in Samarahan and Sarikei during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 34.

In a statement today, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 760 cases were also reported in the last seven days, with 18 cases under Categories 3, 4, and 5, while 742 cases are under Categories 1 and 2.

This brings the total cumulative number of cases reported in Sarawak to 312,532.


Both Kuching and Miri reported triple figure cases with 233 and 118 cases respectively, followed by Sibu (98), Bintulu (84), Samarahan (28), Mukah (27), Sarikei (24), Sri Aman (17), Serian (14), Bau (12), Betong (11) and Telang Usan (10).

Other districts that reported new cases are Limbang (8), Dalat (7), Asajaya (6), Lundu (6), Matu (5), Lawas (4), Lubok Antu (4), Meradong (4), Julau (4), Pakan (4), Kapit (3), Tatau (3), Simunjan (3), Beluru (3), Pusa (3), Marudi (3), Subis (2), Kanowit (2), Sebauh (2), while Kabong, Selangau, Daro, Saratok, Song, Bukit Mabong, Tanjung Manis and Belaga reported one case each. — DayakDaily
