Abang Johari presents Yayasan Sarawak scholarships to three STPM high achievers

KUCHING, Aug 29: Yayasan Sarawak has awarded scholarships to three outstanding students as a token of the Sarawak government’s appreciation for their efforts in achieving excellent results in the 2021 Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examination.

According to a news report published today by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg presented the scholarships during a brief ceremony at his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.

As per Pressely Bangga Kedidi from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kubong, who obtained a 4.00 CGPA, he expressed his gratitude to the Premier of Sarawak for the assistance provided.


“I am also grateful to my parents and teachers for providing me with the knowledge and education that has allowed me to continue my studies at several universities that I have applied to,” he said.

In addition, Indra Soekardi, the father of SMK Kubong student Nur Zahirah, hopes that the scholarship will inspire his child to continue achieving success in the future.

“I’d like to thank the Sarawak government for this assistance, which will help continue my child’s studies to progress more brilliantly,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nasha Izzati Ramlee of SMK Merapok expressed her gratitude for the scholarship, allowing her to continue her studies at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Sarawak government for this assistance.

“I also hope that with the assistance of this scholarship, I will be able to continue my studies at UMS and one day realise my dream of becoming an educator,” she said. — DayakDaily
