Covid-19: Sarawak exceeds 1,000-case mark, 3 deaths in Epid Week 47

KUCHING, Nov 28: Sarawak’s Covid-19 cases have exceeded the 1,000-case mark for Epidemiological (Epid) Week 47, spanning Nov 20 until Nov 26.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a weekly statement said of the total 1,046 cases, Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 354, followed by Sibu (147), Bintulu (96), Miri (93), Samarahan (44) and the other districts reporting under 40 cases each.

The other district were Sarikei (32), Bau (31), Serian (30), Kapit (27), Julau (23), Lawas (21), Sri Aman (19), Lubok Antu (16), Betong (11), Subis (11), Mukah (8), Tatau (8), Dalat (6), Limbang (6), Selangau (6), Beluru (6), Simunjan (5), Kanowit (5), Pusa (5), Daro (4), Telang Usan (4), Asajaya (3), Marudi (3), Meradong (3), Saratok (3), Kabong (3), Song (2), Lundu (2), Tebedu (2), Pakan (2), Sebauh (2), while Bukit Mabong, Tanjung Manis and Matu recorded one case each.


Only seventeen of the new cases were classified under Categories 3, 4 and 5 while the others were under Categories 1 and 2.

This brings the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases reported in Sarawak to 320,311.

SDMC also reported three new deaths in Epid Week 47 — one each in Sri Aman, Betong and Sarikei. — DayakDaily
