Covid-19: No new cases, 17 patients still in hospitals

KUCHING, Sept 2: A total of 17 Covid-19 patients are still receiving treatment in hospitals as no new cases were reported in Sarawak today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement revealed the state’s tally of positive cases remains at 699.

There are 11 patients treated in Bintulu Hospital, while five are in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and one in Miri Hospital.

Only one cluster remains active in Sarawak which is the Alam Cluster in Bintulu with eight cases.

There were also no patient recoveries and discharges recorded today and as such, the total number of recovered cases in Sarawak is maintained at 663 or 94.85 per cent of total positive cases so far.

As of today, two districts are still categorised as Covid-19 yellow zones (with less than 40 cases), namely Kuching and Bintulu.

Sarawak also reported five more Persons-Under-Investigation (PUI) with no cases pending laboratory test results.

Additionally, 45 more Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) have been checked into identified hotels to undergo quarantine.

As of today, there are a total number of 683 individuals undergoing quarantine in 14 hotels throughout the state. ā€” DayakDaily
