Covid-19: New PUI cases involving Malaysians registered at SGH, Bintulu Hospital

KUCHING, Feb 22: Two new novel coronavirus (Covid-19) persons under investigation (PUI) cases were registered in the state today, bringing the total cumulative cases to 109.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee, the PUI cases, both Malaysians, were recorded at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) here and Bintulu Hospital.

“With the new cases, Sarawak has recorded a cumulative 109 PUI cases since the coronavirus outbreak hit the country on Jan 10.


“Of the total, 99 cases were tested negative, while 10 are awaiting laboratory test results with one Chinese national at Bintulu Hospital among them,” the committee said in a statement.

The state Health Department has screened a total of 13,849 arrivals at various airports, land and sea entry points as of yesterday (Feb 21).

On a whole, a total of 167,322 arrivals to the state have been screened since Feb 1 this year. — DayakDaily
