Covid-19: Kuching turns green, no new local transmission for 14th day

KUCHING, Sept 12: Sarawak entered the 14th consecutive day without new cases of local transmission of Covid-19 today.

As a result, the Kuching district has turned into a green zone of Covid-19 today from the yellow zone.


With the Kuching district turned into the green zone, all the districts in Sarawak are currently in the green zone.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said there were no new cases of Covid-19 reported.

The committee said the number of cumulative Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 700 cases.

It added that there were three patients who were being treated at the isolation ward in the hospitals.

Elaborating further, the committee said one patient each was being treated at the Bintulu Hospital, Sibu Hospital and Miri Hospital.

SDMC said one Covid-19 patient recovered and was discharged from the hospital.

It added that there were 28 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) reported while five PUI cases were awaiting laboratory results.

The committee said there were 57 Sarawakian returnees who registered into hotels for quarantine as person-under-surveillance (PUS) today.

It added that a total of 695 PUS were undergoing quarantine at 11 hotels throughout Sarawak while 23,785 PUS have completed their quarantine period today. —DayakDaily
