Covid-19: Kuching takes up half of six new clusters announced today

KUCHING, June 17: Kuching takes up half of the six new Covid-19 clusters announced today.

According to the daily updates on Covid-19 from the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the three new clusters of Covid-19 in Kuching are the Jalan Stampin Cluster, Jalan Keruing Cluster and the Iris Garden Cluster.


They reported a total of 37 new Covid-19 cases and one fatality.

Among the three new clusters, both Jalan Stampin Cluster and the Iris Garden Cluster involve elderly care homes.

The Jalan Keruing Cluster on the other hand, is a cluster which involves a business premises at Sejingkat.

All the Covid-19 patients have been sent to hospitals and Covid-19 quarantine and low-risk treatment centres (PKRC) for isolation and treatment.

On another note, the Bungey Cluster in Betong and Jalan Sawit Cluster in Sarikei were ended after reporting zero cases of Coronavirus in the past 28 days.

With six new clusters emerged and two clusters ended, there are still a total of 92 active clusters of Covid-19 in Sarawak.

Out of the 92 active clusters, 16 active clusters reported 96 new cases of Coronavirus while the balance of 74 active clusters did not report any new cases. — DayakDaily
