Covid-19: Kuching, Miri record one death each as Sarawak logs 304 new cases in Epid Week 21

KUCHING, May 30: Two Covid-19 fatalities were reported in Kuching and Miri as Sarawak recorded 304 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 21.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, of the total cases reported, 296 were under Categories 1 and 2, while eight cases were under Categories 3, 4 and 5.

This brings the cumulative number of cases reported in the State to 306,550.

By district, Kuching remained at the top with the most number of new cases at 119, followed by Sibu (53), Miri (37), Bintulu (21), Samarahan (13) and Serian (12).

Other districts which reported new cases were Limbang (7), Lawas (5), Sarikei (4), Mukah (3), Betong (3), Saratok (3), Dalat (2), Bau (2), Simunjan (2), Lundu (2), Subis (2), Sri Aman (2), Daro (2), Selangau (2), while Pusa, Kanowit, Kapit, Tatau, Asajaya, Kabong, Tanjung Manis and Pakan recorded one case each. — DayakDaily
