Covid-19: Kuching continues to see rising triple-digit cases as Sarawak reports 459 new infections, 1 death in Epid Week 44

KUCHING, Nov 7: Kuching continues to record triple figures of new Covid-19 cases in Epidemiology (Epid) Week 44 as Sarawak reported 459 new infections.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, Kuching reported 192 new cases, an increase of 21 cases from 171 cases recorded in Epid Week 43.

Similar trends were also recorded in Sibu (55), Miri (52), Bintulu (31), Samarahan (22), Bau (15), Sarikei (11), Mukah (8), Kanowit (4), Beluru (3), Limbang (4), Lawas (4), Marudi (2), Bukit Mabong (2), Pakan (3), Dalat (6), Lubok Antu (4), Julau (3), Subis (3), Asajaya (3), and Kabong (1).


In other districts, the number of new cases remained the same or reduced, namely in Serian (14), Kapit (7), Sri Aman (2), and  Betong (2), while only one case each was reported in Simunjan, Song, Meradong, Pusa, Telang Usan, and Selangau.

This brings the cumulative number of cases reported in Sarawak to 317,835. Only one Covid-19 death was reported in Sibu. — DayakDaily
