Covid-19: Kanowit down a notch from red, Serian and Sarikei now orange zones

KUCHING, March 4: The Covid-19 situation has toned down in Kanowit as it reverted to orange zone from red while Serian and Sarikei districts turned orange from yellow zones.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said today Kanowit registered a total of 26 local cases in the past 14 days.

Serian and Sarikei on the other hand, recorded 21 local cases each in the last two weeks while other districts maintained their zone statuses.

Selangau, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Samarahan, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu are still in the Covid-19 red zone with 2,616 local cases.

Six orange zones namely Julau, Subis, Bau, Bukit Mabong, Dalat and Sri Aman recorded 163 local cases in the past 14-day records.

Marudi, Mukah, Pusa, Song, Asajaya, Beluru, Saratok and Sebauh are the eight remaining yellow zones.

With that, Uggah noted that 14 districts in Sarawak are in the safe status of Covid-19 green zones. — DayakDaily
