Covid-19 green zone down to two districts, Telang Usan and Kabong

KUCHING, May 23: Telang Usan and Kabong are the only districts remaining with the green zone status of Covid-19 today, as Marudi and Tanjung Manis districts turn to yellow and orange zones respectively after recording new local infection cases.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, said with one local infection case recorded, Marudi reverted to yellow zone from the green zone status.

“This brings the total number of districts as yellow zones of Covid-19 to 11 districts, and only Telang Usan and Kabong continue with their green zone status,” it said.


The statement added, Tanjung Manis was pushed out from the yellow zone status to  orange zone status after recording a total of 22 local infection cases in the past fortnight, bringing the total number of districts with the orange status to three districts, while 24 others retaining their red zone statuses.

As of today, the districts with the red zone status are namely Bukit Mabong, Tebedu, Betong, Pusa, Belaga, Sri Aman, Sebauh, Pakan, Song, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

Three districts with the orange zone status are Tanjung Manis, Bau and Tatau, while Marudi, Asajaya, Simunjan, Lundu, Julau, Matu, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Limbang and Lawas are yellow zones, followed by Telang Usan and Kabong in the green zone status. — DayakDaily
