Covid-19: Dr Sim among Sarawak ministers in self-quarantine

SUPP top leaders expressed their disappointment with the seemingly small allocation to Sarawak.

KUCHING, April 3: Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, is in self-quarantine at home after having close contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19.

Dr Sim, in his Facebook posting, said he has been issued a letter by the state Health Department as one of the individuals under supervision, as part of the standard operation procedure (SOP) for close proximity to Covid-19 positive case.

He revealed that he was exposed to one of the Covid-19 positive patient during one of the State Disaster Management Committee meeting on March 27.

“After a few closed call (occupational hazards) despite all the precautions, one of the person attended the SDMC sub-committee meeting on 27 March was diagnosed Covid-19 positive.

“Though I am well (no cough, no SOB (short of breath), no fever), as part of the SOP for close proximity to Covid- 19 positive case (anyone exposure in last 14 days), precautionary measures means all of us in the meeting (Day 8 post exposure) will need to be self isolation@home.

“Not just in case we become infected but more importantly not to infect the others if you happen to be infected, though you are well and not having symptoms,” Dr Sim said in his Facebook posting today.

“Please stay at home. That is the only way you can stop the infection and stop being infected,” he said.
