Covid-19: All tourism facilities to be closed until April 30

KUCHING, March 16: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has ordered all the public facilities under the ministry to be closed until April 30.

The ministry has directed all departments and agencies under its purview to temporarily close their doors to visitors in view of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in the country.

“The directive is with immediate effect and all heads of department have been instructed to perform disinfection for the tourism facilities and at the public area of those facilities,” the ministry said in a statement.

Among the departments involved included the National Museum Department, National Art Gallery, Department of National Heritage, National Archives of Malaysia, Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, National Library of Malaysia, National Theatre and Malaysia Tourism Centre.

The ministry urged the public to follow the guidelines from the Health Ministry in preventing the spread of Covid-19. — DayakDaily
