Covid-19: 317 new cases, all local transmissions

KUCHING, Oct  3: The country recorded 317 local transmission cases of positive Covid-19 as of 12 pm today, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

According to Dr Noor Hisham, from the total 317 cases, 37 of them were local transmissions involving those returning from Sabah, and zero imported cases were reported today.

“Sabah recorded a total of 155 new cases today, followed by Kedah with 102 cases, Selangor (32), Terengganu (nine), Kuala Lumpur (four), Johor (four), Penang, Sarawak (three each), Kelantan and Putrajaya (two each) and Negeri Sembilan (one).

“This brings the total positive cases recorded in the country to 12,088 cases,” he said during a press conference on national Covid-19 update, held in Putrajaya today.

At the moment, he continued, a total of 1,735 (14.35 per cent) cases are still active in the country, where 29 of them are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU), with four under respiratory assistance

Dr Noor Hisham also noted a total of 121 cases of positive Covid-19 has also recovered and discharged, bringing the total number of recovered and discharged cases involving Covid-19 in the country to 10,216 cases.

“One death was recorded today, bringing the total number of deaths involving Covid-19 to 137 cases (1.13 per cent),” he added. –DayakDaily.
