KUCHING, Sept 28: A 30 year-old man from Sarikei who had obesity and obstructive sleep apnea disease was among 16 fatalities reported due to Covid-19 today.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a media statement, there were 16 fatalities reported including one brought-in-dead (BID) case while their deaths occurred between Sept 9 and 27.
SDMC said one casualty was reported each on Sept 9, 21 and 24 involving a 68-year-old woman, 97-year-old woman, both from Bintulu and a 63-year-old man from Serian who was BID.
On Sept 25, six fatalities were reported involving four men and two women from Sibu, Kuching and Kapit aged between 59 and 92.
On Sept 26, five casualties were reported involving three women and two men aged between 30 and 87 from Sarikei, Betong, Miri and Kuching.
On Sept 27, two men, one each from Serian and Sibu aged 78 and 76 passed away due to the virus.
With the additional 16 fatalities reported, the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak has risen to 794. — DayakDaily
