Covid-19: 22 deaths including 7 BIDs in Sarawak today

KUCHING, Oct 6: Sarawak registered 22 deaths due to Covid-19 today, including seven brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

According to an update report from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak today, the 22 Covid-19 patients had died between June 12 and Oct 5.

SDMC said on June 12, one death was reported involving a 38-year-old man from Bintulu who had no medical history and was BID.


Subsequently, one death registered on Sept 28 involved a 57-year-old man from Kuching who was also BID, and had no medical history of illness.

There were four deaths reported on Oct 2, all BIDs which involved three women and one man aged between 50 and 70 from Kapit (2) and Sri Aman (2).

On Oct 3, five deaths were reported involving three men and two women aged between 63 and 81 from Sibu (2), Kuching (2) and Serian (1).

There were 10 deaths recorded on Oct 4 which involved seven men and three women aged between 55 and 91 from Bintulu (3) Miri (2), Kapit (1), Samarahan (1), Sibu (1), Betong (1) and Sarikei (1).

Among them was a BID which involved a 75-year-old man from Kapit.

On Oct 5, one death was reported, involving a 68-year-old woman from Kuching.

With the additional 22 deaths recorded, the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak has risen to 941. — DayakDaily
