Covid-19: 1 death in Miri as Sarawak cases decline to 442 in Epid Week 40

KUCHING, Oct 10: One Covid-19 related death was reported in Miri as Sarawak saw a decline in its number of cases to 442 in Epid (Epidemiology) Week 40.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, the number of cases reported in Kuching dropped to 160 compared to 186 cases last week (Epid 39) and a similar trend occurred in Miri and Sibu with 72 and 67 cases each respectively, followed by Bintulu (31), Sarikei (15), Samarahan (14), while number of new cases in Bau remained at 10 cases.

Other districts that reported new cases were Mukah (7), Dalat (7), Lubok Antu (7), Serian (6), Marudi (6), Matu (5), Tanjung Manis (5), Sri Aman (4), Limbang (3), Betong (2), Simunjan (2), Saratok (2), Meradong (2), Julau (2), Sebauh (2), Song (2), Kapit (2), and one case each for Daro, Lawas, Tatau, Tebedu, and Selangau.


From the total number of cases reported, 13 cases were in Clinical Categories 3, 4 and 5, while 429 cases were in Clinical Categories 1 and 2.

This brings the cumulative number of cases reported in Sarawak to 316,120. — DayakDaily
