Court orders 17yo to be sent to Henry Gurney School for reformation over drug charges

KUCHING, July 14: The Magistrate’s Court here has ordered that a 17-tear-old teenager be sent to Henry Gurney School for administering amphetamine and methamphetamine.

Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wali convicted him as charged after the accused pleaded guilty to the charge framed and after hearing the social report by the Welfare Department.


She then ordered the accused to be sent to Henry Gurney School until he reaches the age of 21.

He was found administering amphetamine and methamphetamine at Kuching District Narcotics Investigating Office, at about 3.10pm on March 24, 2022.

He was charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 15(1) of the same Act, which carries a maximum imprisonment of two years or with fine not more than RM5,000, upon conviction.

Prosecuting Officer Inspector Mohd Adzmei Ahmad prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
