Courier service worker found guilty of trying to bully special needs individual fined RM1,000

KUCHING, May 24: The Magistrate’s Court here sentenced a courier service company worker to a fine of RM1,000 to a charge of trying to bully a person with special needs.

Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali convicted Mohd Aidid Mohamad Supian, 22, as charged after he pleaded guilty.

Magistrate Syarifah sentenced the accused to a fine of RM1,000 or in default to two weeks’ imprisonment.

Mohd Aidid was found guilty of trying to hurt the 38-year-old victim with a plastic syringe and a lit firecracker behind a courier service company office in Bandar Baru Semariang, at about 11am on May 10, 2022.

He was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 511 of the same Code, which carries imprisonment up to one year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both, upon conviction.

According to the brief facts of the case, it was the victim’s brother who lodged a police report after he saw a video of his brother being bullied by an unknown man on social media.
