SIBU, April 26: A construction worker died after he lost control of the car he was driving before colliding head-on with a lorry near the Lanang Bridge yesterday.
The deceased, 37, is from Desa Satria.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said that in the 4.30pm accident the deceased was traveling from the direction of the bridge towards town.
“He lost control of the car and collided with a lorry travelling from the opposite direction,” he added.
As a result of the collision, the deceased suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
However he passed away at about 7pm, said Stanley.
“He was trying to overtake a vehicle in front but lost control of the car and crashed into a lorry on the opposite side,” he said.
The deceased left behind four children, including a toddler. — DayakDaily
