SDMC: Jalan Seladah, Jalan Song construction sites Covid-19 hotspots

KUCHING, Oct 24: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has identified several locations in Kuching with positive cases of Covid-19 arising from a kuih seller.

They are at construction sites at Jalan Seladah and Jalan Song adjacent to Sarawak Blessed Church, next to Emart Batu Kawa, Stephen Yong Shell station, Yongkong hardware, 4th Mile car wash, Bako Kaya and Royal Richmond Gold Condominium.

SDMC in a press statement today said there was another positive case of Covid-19 which involved the kuih seller.

The committee said case 777 involved a woman who sold kuih at one of the locations which were mentioned earlier.

Hence, SDMC said any individual who bought kuih and were in close contact with case 771, a kuih seller who tested positive last Thursday (October 22) and case 777 in the past two weeks were advised to undergo the Covid-19 swab test.

Earlier, SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas revealed that Sarawak reported eight new positive cases of Covid-19 today.
