SIMUNJAN, Dec 22: Two major development projects in Simunjan, Anjung Sarawak and Simunjan Waterfront, are expected to be implemented next year, says Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris.
According to a TVS news report yesterday (Dec 21), Awla said these two projects are proof of the Sarawak governmentās attentiveness to the rural community.
He said that in addition to transforming Simunjanās tourism landscape, a new settlement will also be developed.
āAnjung Sarawak will be built in 2025 behind SJK (C) Chung Hua as well as the mega project announced by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Simunjan Waterfront, which will also see its construction begin next year.
āThis is good news for the residents of Simunjan where we have requested for the land behind Kampung Sagu to be used for a resettlement scheme and it was approved a month ago,ā he said.
He said this during the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Simunjan branch delegates meeting yesterday.
According to him, new roads have also been built in several areas in Simunjan, including several villages and a road from Simunjan Hospital to Merunduk.
Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah was present to officiate the adjournment ceremony of the meeting. ā DayakDaily
