KUCHING, Aug 1: The tender of the proposed construction of Rambungan Bridge will be awarded end of this month.

According to the state Public Works Department (JKR), the proposed construction of the Rambungan Bridge is one of the packages under the Coastal Road and Second Trunk Road project funded by Sarawak government.

“The construction will be awarded to a successful contractor under an open tender. At the moment, the evaluation of the tender is at the final stage and once it is done, it will be submitted to the Tender Board Committee.

“It is expected to be awarded by end of the August, 2019,” said JKR.

The statement was made in response to a comment on social media questioning when will the bridge be built.

“Asking Assistant Minister (Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Nawawi), when will Rambungan Bridge be built?

“The people has been long waiting for the bridge (sic),” said the social media posting to JKR. — DayakDaily
