Originally plagued by delays, the Marudi Bridge project, spanning 650 metres across Batang Baram, underwent a revival after a new contractor took over in October 2022.

Initiated in January 2019 with an initial completion date set for January 2022, the project faced significant setbacks and prompted the change in contractor.

Now under the management of Pekerjaan Piasau Konkerit Sdn Bhd, the two-lane bridge, with an estimated cost of RM116.5 million, is rescheduled for completion by June 2025.

Encouragingly, recent progress suggested that the project is ahead of its revised schedule, with expectations for full connectivity by July 2024. — DayakDaily
