KUCHING, Feb 17: The Congress of Union of Employees in the Public and Civil Services Malaysia (Cuepacs) Sarawak proposed that the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributions for civil servants under the contribution-based position (CBP) scheme be increased.
Its chairman, Jubilee Jineh, said the recommendation was conveyed to the Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar during a courtesy visit at Astana Sarawak here today.
Explaining further, he said this was his party’s commitment to make meaningful contributions to the public service sector, thus improving the well-being of the people and the development of Sarawak.
The feedback from Tun Dr Wan Junaidi was encouraging,” he said when met after the courtesy visit, as reported by TVS.
Meanwhile, Jubilee said the main purpose of the courtesy visit was to introduce the new leadership of Cuepacs Sarawak and provide a more in-depth explanation of the role and objectives of the congress.
“We discussed with Tun Dr Wan Junaidi the responsibilities and role of Cuepacs in assisting State and federal civil servants in delivering and carrying out activities for the benefit of civil servants.
“Therefore, we hope that the State government can provide better assistance this year. We believe that civil servants in Sarawak will carry out their duties and responsibilities with more dedication with the assistance provided,” he said. — DayakDaily
