KUCHING, Feb 21: A house owner’s use of firewood to cook sparked concern among the nearby public, who mistook it for a house fire at Taman Matang Jaya today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), concerned about the safety of the house’s occupants, an emergency call was received through MERS 999 at 7.22am.

As a result, firefighters from the Petra Jaya station were deployed to the location.
Upon arrival, the operations commander confirmed that there was no fire, as the call claimed.
