KUCHING, July 12: An individual who refused to undergo quarantine under Section 15, was among those issued with compound notices by the Ministry of Health (MOH) throughout the State over a 24-hour period.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said out of the 34 compound notices issued for various standard operating procedure (SOP) violations, 30 involved individuals and four involved corporate bodies.
Other SOP violations included failure to follow the Movement Control Order (MCO) instruction (7), failure to provide the MySejahtera QR (quick response) code and registration book (3), failure to wear facemask (2), and failure to limit the number of customers in a premises (1).
A total of 20 individuals were also issued with compound notices for various other SOP violations, bringing the total number of compounds issued by MOH so far to 325 compounds.
In the same statement, SDMC revealed that out of the 107 compound notices issued by the Royal Malaysia Police in the most recent 24-hour period for various SOP violations, loitering in public places beyond the time limit accounted for the most with 46 compounds issued.
Other categories of SOP violations which received compounds by the police included gathering and failure to practise physical distancing (28), conducting recreational activities in public places (17), failure to scan the MySejahtera QR code before entering a premises (eight), failure to update and failure to register the details of customers entering a premises (four).
Other offenses were opening a premises which is not allowed to operate (1), failure to wear facemask (1), carrying passengers exceeding the permitted limit in a vehicle (1), and playing basketball without permission (1), bringing the total number of compound notices issued by the police until today to 9,253 compounds.
Meanwhile, the committee said the Ministry of Local Government and Housing (MLGH) issued a total of 11 compound notices through its local government authorities (PBT) over the same period, bringing the total number of compounds issued so far to 1,290 compounds.
The offenses included dining-in (6), failure to wear facemask (3), operating without permission (1), and failure to update or incomplete registration details (1). — DayakDaily
