KUCHING, Nov 9: Constructive feedback from the community is essential to ensure that government initiatives align with the society’s current needs and the “appetite” of the people.

Deputy Minister in the Premier of Sarawak’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and Ukas) Datuk Abdullah Saidol emphasised that without community input, government initiatives cannot be effectively realised or achieved.

“Every government policy and initiative risks missing its mark because sometimes we develop them without fully understanding the appetite of the community,” he said.

He made these remarks while representing Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to officiate the 2024 Kita Madani Carnival at PCC Demak today.

In a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Abdullah also urged community leaders and youth to provide feedback through the appropriate channels.

“This is to ensure that government agencies can operate more efficiently and better meet the needs of the people.

“It’s not just about one-way communication of information. The government must hear from the community about their concerns, especially regarding how it functions,” he explained.

This feedback, Abdullah added, is vital to shaping policies that truly reflect the needs and preferences of the people. — DayakDaily
