Columbia Asia Hospital Miri, BMC Miri and three private clinics appointed as PPVs

MIRI, May 24: Columbia Asia Hospital Miri, Borneo Medical Centre (BMC) Miri and three private clinics here have been appointed as Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPVs) to speed up the vaccination drive and achieving herd immunity.

This was announced by Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) minister in-charge Datuk Lee Kim Shin today.


“Columbia Asia Hospital Miri will kick off its inoculation drive on Tuesday (May 25) while BMC and three private clinics, namely Dr Chiew Clinic; Dynamic Clinic and Lee Clinic (Dr Dorothy) in June,” he revealed.

Lee expressed his thanks to these private medical institutions for taking part in the vaccination programme in efforts to help accelerate the inoculation drive.

“Its to fast track the vaccination process in this division,” he pointed out.

On another note, Lee urged the community in Miri who have yet to register for the Covid-19 vaccines to do so as soon as possible via MySejahtera application.

“The vaccines are aimed to protect the people from the infectious and deadly virus,” he said.

He advised members of the public to not be easily swayed by the spread of fake news and rumours that the vaccine shots caused complication to recipients. — DayakDaily
