CMO: Helicopter carrying Abang Johari redirected to Unimas due to bad weather

KUCHING, Dec 18: A helicopter carrying Caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg had to be redirected to land in Unimas due to inclement weather, the Chief Minister’s Office clarified today.

The helicopter, which was carrying Abang Johari and his entourage was on its back to Kuching from Gedong.

“Despite some posts on social media claiming that the helicopter had to make an emergency landing, in actual fact the helicopter pilots had decided to land alternatively at Unimas due to bad weather and low visibility upon returning from Gedong.

“All passengers are safe and sound,” it said in a statement issued this afternoon.
