KOTA SAMARAHAN, Oct 24: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg insisted he will not comment on issues relating to an Emergency Declaration sought by Prime Minister Tans Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his Federal Cabinet.

“Emergency Declaration is a very serious subject and I cannot simply comment. We must wait for Istana Negara’s official statement on the matter.” he said.

Speaking to reporters after officiating the upgrading project for five roundabouts along Kuching-Samarahan Expressway groundbreaking ceremony today, Abang Johari asserted if there is no official statement from Istana Negara, he will take it as hearsay.

He also urged the public and politicians not to comment based on hearsay and what they read on social media.

He was asked about the purported emergency declaration which was being sought by the Federal government and if he agreed to it.

“I do not have any details so whether I agree or not, it does not matter.” he stressed. —DayakDaily
