KUCHING, Dec 9: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg commended former police officers in Sarawak for their contributions to the local community.

Abang Johari said former police officers, when given responsibilities, are still disciplined and continue to carry out their duties well.

“This is what I see throughout the State. That is why many of them (ex-policemen) become either the tuai rumah, village heads, pemanca as well as temenggong, to manage the affairs of the local community.

“For that I congratulate and thank them for their contribution for our community,” said Abang Johari in his speech during a work visit and safety briefing session held at the officers’ mess at the Kuching district police headquarters (IPD) here today.

During the visit, Abang Johari also launch the new logo and website for Sarawak Alumni Police Association (Sapa). — DayakDaily
