KUCHING, Jan 29: Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg describes the late Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Datuk Patinggi Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng as a prominent warrior during the formation of Malaysia.

“Tun was also appointed as the Yang di-Pertua Negeri twice which speaks volume of his figure as a leader who has united the multiracial society in Sarawak.

“And due to his advice and leadership, we are able to enjoy what we see today. Thus, the passing of the ‘anak Sarawak’ is a great loss to the State,” he told the press after paying his last respects to the late Tun Salahuddin at Masjid Jamek in Petra Jaya today.

The current Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib were also present to pay their last respects to the late Tun Salahuddin earlier today.
