CM: All development projects earmarked for Miri will materialise

MIRI, June 13: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg today assured that all development projects meant to benefit the people here would be implemented.

These projects, which include the upgrading of roads and improvement to water supplies, especially in rural areas, are at various stages of implementation.


“Some of these projects will take one to two years to implement,” he told reporters covering his visit to Bekenu assemblywoman Rosey Yunus’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at Taman Bumiko here this morning.

Accompanied by his wife, Datin Patinggi Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Abang Johari also visited several other dignitaries here to extend festive greetings.

Tagging along were Assistant Minister for Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi, Assistant Ninister for Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Assistant Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Assistant Minister for Local Government Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, Deputy State Legislative Assemby Speaker Dato Gerawat Gala, Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting and mayor Adam Yii.

Besides visiting Rosey, Abang Johari also called on Temenggung Abdul Rahman Fadzail, Lembaga Amanah Bekenu chairman Dato Usop Sani Wahap, Laku Management Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Ahmad Lai Bujang, Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat and Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni. — DayakDaily
