Claim free ePenjana RM50 e-wallet credit today till Sept 24

Malaysians can start claiming and redeeming their free RM50 e-wallet credit today.

KUCHING, July 31: Malaysians can start claiming for the RM50 ePenjana credit through either Boost, GrabPay or Touch ‘n Go e-Wallets from today (July 31) until Sept 24.

The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has launched the ePenjana credit programme worth RM750 million, which is an initiative under the Economic Recovery Plan (Penjana) aimed at boosting consumer spending in Malaysia, yesterday.


“All eligible applicants will receive the RM50 ePenjana credit beginning July 31, 2020 (today) which they can redeem through three e-Wallet service providers selected to implement the initiative namely Boost, GrabPay and Touch ‘n Go.

“Applicants will also receive additional RM50 in value through vouchers, cashback and discounts by the supported e-Wallet partners throughout the campaign period,” Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said in a statement.

This programme, he added, was implemented together with Covid-19 contact tracing application MySejahtera.

As such, to apply for the credit, each applicant must download one of the three supported e-Wallets (Boost, GrabPay and Touch ‘n Go) as well as download and use the MySejahtera application.

Tengku Zafrul explained that the initiative is open to all Malaysians aged 18 years and above, with annual income of less than RM100,000.

“Malaysians can claim the RM50 ePenjana credit from July 31 to Sept 24, 2020 and the credits must be utilised by Sept 30, 2020,” he reminded.

Applicants are advised to download and update their data in the MySejahtera application, while businesses and vendors must contact the related e-Wallet service providers to obtain the MySejahtera QR Code to ensure smooth ePenjana transactions in their shops.

Meanwhile, Grab in its promotional notice on the website has advised users to update their Grab app to iOS v5.107.1, ADR v5.107.0 and above to claim the RM50 ePenjana with GrabPay now as well as to get an extra RM50 in Grab vouchers.

GrabPay users can claim and spend the credits on various Grab services including food, car, mart and express.

Boost has also listed the steps for users to claim their RM50 ePenjana credit on its website and Boost users can use the RM50 ePenjana for any transactions within Boost such as paying at offline and online partners, paying bills, topping up prepaid, buying vouchers except for in-app Donations.

As for Touch ‘n Go, the RM50 ePenjana credit can be used for any transactions including online shopping and in-app payments.

Note that the ePenjana balance is not transferable to other e-Wallet accounts or be cashed out.—DayakDaily
