Civil servants to see salary increase of 15–42.7 pct, says Communications Minister

KUCHING, Aug 7: Malaysia’s civil servants are expected to receive a salary increase ranging from 15 to 42.7 per cent under the revised Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).

According to a news report by TVS, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil stated that the overall picture of salary hikes, especially involving the implementation group, will be known next week.

“Starting next week, we will have a better understanding of the anticipated salary increases, which are expected to range from 15 to 42.7 per cent.

“The increase for the implementation group is expected to be the highest of all, while chief secretaries or director-generals will see a more modest adjustment,” he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.

Fahmi added that the specifics, including the required allocation for these salary increases, will be made available in the 2025 Budget document, which is scheduled to be tabled by Prime Minister-cum-Finance Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Oct 18. — DayakDaily
