KUCHING, April 22: Civil servants in Grade 56 and below will be receiving special assistances of RM500 each in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
The announcement was made by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in an official statement today.
“The government has agreed to provide the ‘Aidilfitri Special Financial Assistance’ of RM500 to all staff in Grade 56 and below, including Contract of Service, Contract for Service, Part-Time Officers and those under MySTEP, and RM250 to government retirees.
“This grant is to appreciate the services and sacrifices of civil servants in shouldering the responsibility of delivering services to the people, especially when the country is going through this challenging period,” it said.
PMO added that the payments for this special assistance would be done together with the payments of salaries on May 6 and this assistance is expected to benefit over two million civil servants and retirees.
It noted that this year’s announcement of the assistance is earlier than previous years due to the government’s concern in helping those in need to prepare for Hari Raya Aidilfitri earlier.
“The government hopes that the provision of this special assistance will ease the financial burden on civil servants and retirees, and be used as a catalyst for them to continue to serve with full dedication,” said PMO. — DayakDaily
