Citadines Hotel holds fire drill for management and staff

KUCHING, Sept 24: Citadines Hotel recently held a fire drill in spirit of the adage ‘prevention is better than cure’.

Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) station chief TPgB Mohd Raffy Saibi revealed 168 personnel took part in the drill that was conducted at the hotel’s premises at Jalan Simpang Tiga.

Joining them were all Citadine Hotel management and staff, and police and Civil Defence Force teams.


At the same time, Mohd Raffy also presented certificates to 10 hotel staff for participating in the ‘Friends of Fire Hydrant’ programme.

These 10 personnel have pledged to look after fire hydrants at their respective housing areas.

Meanwhile, Mohd Raffy also advised other hotel premises not to take any chances when it comes to the safety of their staff and guests.

“Safety and security are paramount especially in designated buildings, therefore it is vital for employees to be armed with fire safety knowledge to ensure a safe working and living environment,” he added.

The drill was aimed at provide hotel staff with experience, knowledge and training, as well as empower them to calmly face and handle all circumstances that might arise during an emergency, especially a fire, Mohd Raffy disclosed. — DayakDaily
