KUCHING, Jan 29: Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) potential candidate for Repok Wong Chin King is taking legal action against Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan following a police report filed today.

Wong lodged the police report this morning alleging Voon of making false allegations against him over his resignation from PBK.

“Since Mr Voon did not make an apology, I lodged a police report this morning. Further legal action will be taken against him.

“I lodged a police report related to PBK president Mr Voon’s false and baseless allegations over my resignation issue,” said Wong in a Whatsapp message to DayakDaily today.

Wong, who used to be PBK Sarikei Central Working Committee chairman, had on Jan 14, 2021 demanded Voon to withdraw the allegedly “distorted facts and self-deceiving remarks” made against him within two weeks.

On Jan 14, 2021, Wong in a press statement claimed that Voon had deliberately distorted the facts and attacked him after his resignation from PBK. This, Wong said had caused damage to his personality and integrity as a man with principle.

He said it was necessary for him to respond to the false and defamatory remarks made by Voon and demanded an apology within two weeks or face legal action.

Voon had on Dec 29, 2020, issued a statement saying that the party had served a show cause letter to Wong.

According to Voon’s statement, Wong was served the showcause letter before Christmas wherein Wong must explain why he (Wong) must not face disciplinary actions for his (Wong)’s many remarks and statements appeared on Wong’s social media page.

In response, Wong said he had submitted his resignation on Dec 26, 2020 to leave PBK as he had lost confidence and trust in the party’s top leadership. — DayakDaily
