BETONG, Sept 17: A male Chinese national, initially feared missing after falling into the Batang Ai hydro dam reservoir while installing a solar system, has been found safe.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency at 2.43pm on Sunday (Sept 15) and swiftly deployed a team of firefighters from the Betong Station to the scene.
A search operation, involving Bomba, the police, Civil Defence Force (APM), and Sarawak Energy Berhad was initiated over the past two days.
At 9.52pm yesterday (Sept 16), the Bomba Betong operation commander received a call from Lubok Antu police station, confirming that the victim had reported himself to the station and provided a statement about the incident. — DayakDaily
