MIRI, Sept 29: Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, paid an unexpected visit to the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security (ICQS) Complex at Sungai Tujoh this morning.
Accompanied by Sarawak Federal Secretary Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan, the visit coincided with the presence of Deputy Director General (Control) of Immigration, Datu Ken Leben, who was there for a working visit with other senior immigration officials.
The surprise inspection was aimed at evaluating the preparedness of government service counters at key border points, especially at ICQS Sungai Tujoh, which manages the movement of both local and foreign visitors in and out of the country.
During the visit, Ken joined Shamsul Azri and his delegation in surveying the facilities at the Sungai Tujoh ICQS, assessing operations to ensure smooth and efficient border control services.
The visit highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards of service at border checkpoints, ensuring that the entry and exit of travelers are conducted seamlessly, especially amid the anticipated increase in cross-border travel. — DayakDaily
