KUCHING, April 3: A Perodua Bezza skidded off the road before Shell Station Batu 7 on Jalan Penrissen this morning, claiming one life and leaving another critically injured.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), firefighters from BBP Kota Sentosa deployed and arrived at the scene at 4.32am, just six minutes after the call.
The vehicle skidded off the roadside shoulder and stopped at the edge of the road, carrying two passengers.
One of the victims, 22-year-old Jacky Jawing Bangkong, was rescued by members of the public before the rescue arrived. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed for medical attention.
Another victim trapped inside the car, 36-year-old Jerry Gabriel was extricated by rescuers but pronounced dead at the scene and handed to police.
The team, led by the operation commander PBK II Jifree Sujal, also cleared accident debris before returning to the station. — DayakDaily
