BETONG, May 27: Two men were taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash caused their vehicle to flip upside down by the roadside along Jalan Suri Debak in Spaoh today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency at 5.56pm and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from Betong Station to the scene.
The accident involved a Proton Iswara, with both victims still inside upon the firefighters’ arrival. Fortunately, several passersby were present to lend assistance.
Firefighters swiftly worked to retrieve the victims through the vehicle’s rear door and provided initial medical aid with the help of the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) crew.
One of the victims was then transported to Betong Hospital via the EMRS vehicle, while the other was sent by the Civil Defense Force (APM) ambulance.
The operation concluded at 6.50pm, with firefighters ensuring the safety of the site before departing. — DayakDaily
