Car collides head-on into police officer carrying out Covid-19 patrol on Rock Road

The car and the motorcycle heavily damaged after the collision

KUCHING, Apr 17: A police officer suffered injuries to his right leg after a car collided with him at Rock Road, Kuching on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened around 1.15pm when the car was heading toward the Kuching City area.

According to the police report, the driver lost control of his car and went into the oncoming lane of traffic, where he rammed into the police officer carrying out Covid-19 patrol duty on his motorcycle.


The impact had caused heavy injuries to the police officer’s right thigh while the driver received injuries to his right arm.

The police officer was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital and the case will be investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987. —DayakDaily
