“Just last month, my mother and I visited Puan Sri. I never imagined that life would change so quickly and that it would be our last meeting. It is truly heartbreaking. I can only hope that the memory of her gentle smile, kind heart, and graceful presence will remain with all of us,” he said.

Wee said his family and Lim’s have known each other for a long time and said when he was younger, he looked up to her as someone warm, patient, and kind.

“After I became mayor, my work required me to meet (Deputy Premier) Datuk Amar Dr Sim (Kui Hian) more often, and because of that, I also had more chances to greet Puan Sri.

“She remained the same caring elder she had always been. Every time I saw her, she would gently remind me that while work matters, health comes first, and I should rest when needed. Her words were full of warmth and sincerity; they still stay with me today.

“May Puan Sri rest peacefully and may her family find strength during this difficult time. Her loving, generous spirit touched many and will stay in our hearts forever. Wishing her a peaceful journey,” he said.
