KUCHING, June 11: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) will host Functional Fitness Day at MBKS Floating Stage on Aug 4, in conjunction with Kuching Fest 2024.
Organised by MBKS in collaboration with OHS Motors Sdn Bhd, the event named ‘Throne 2024’ will be held from 8am to 4pm.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the event aims to offer a series of challenging activities for 15 to 17-year-olds and adults aged 18 and above, allowing them to enjoy the fun of sports while enhancing their physical fitness and health.
“MBKS expresses its gratitude for emphasis on youth physical training and wishes this event a complete success.
“Through such events, not only can young people enjoy the fun of sports, but they can also challenge themselves, showcasing the vitality of youth,” he said during a press conference at MBKS headquarters here today.
He also said the event is targeting 100 participants.
There will be four categories, namely ‘Throne Men Open’, ‘Throne Women Open’, ‘Throne Teen Male’ and ‘Throne Teen Female’.
For each category, champions will bring home cash prize of RM800, while the first runners-up will secure RM300. The second runners-up will receive RM200.
Individuals interested to join the event will have to pay RM60 as a registration fee.
