Calling for Bau, Kota Samarahan folk to sign up for ARCH Unity Lab on July 25

Members of the public from Bau and Kota Samarahan are invited to sign up for ARCH Unity Lab this July 25, 2022.

KUCHING, July 8: Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) will hold a one-day workshop on ARCH (Advancing Racial Cohesion and Harmony) Unity Lab for Bau and Kota Samarahan residents at the Pullman Hotel Kuching on July 25.

YPS said government officers, community leaders, representatives of youth associations, members of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and members of the general public are encouraged to sign up for the upcoming unity lab workshop.

“Participation is free and participants will receive certificates for attending the unity lab workshop,” it said in a statement today.

ARCH is a project by YPS that aims to understand and evaluate how Sarawakians perceive unity and race relation among various ethnic groups and national integration as well as to frame it from a broader tier of the national level from a local perspective.

The concept developed when the National Unity Blueprint 2021-2030 was announced to achieve its set objectives in understanding the concept of unity in Malaysia, to create a clear vision and aspirations of unity to be achieved in the next 10 years, and to outline strategic shifts and comprehensive targeted initiatives to realise the desired aspirations of unity.

In the last two months, workshops were held successfully in Limbang, Miri, Bintulu, Mukah, Sibu, and Kapit, with nearly 200 participants enrolling in this lab.

The next round of workshops will take place in Kota Samarahan, Bau and finally, Kuching.

The final session will be held for the Kuching community and will be announced at a later date.
